Sir John Everett Millais was an English painter of the 19th century. At the age of eleven, he became the youngest ever member of the Royal Academy of Arts. The child prodigy became one of the most famous representatives of the Pre-Raphaelites; his painting ‘Ophelia’ is considered emblematic of the naturalistic focus of the movement. The elegant style of Millais’s paintings is particularly engaging on canvas, but his motifs also exude a unique charm on acrylic glass.
